Mountain Top is located in Luzerne County, PA, and according to the 2010 census the population was 10,982. Mountain Top is located ten miles south of Wilkes-Barre on Pennsylvania Route 309. The elevation of Mountain Top (sometimes referred to as Mountaintop), is 1558 feet above sea level. This city is known for its four distinctive seasons with warm summers, unpredictable fall and spring months, and cold winters.
Mountain Top has some attractions that may be of interest to residents or visitors. Wright Township Municipal Park is located in this city, as is the historical Kirby and Kirby Episcopal House. Outdoor recreational opportunities are also available at various State Game Lands, including Lands 207 and 187, among others.
